The following values can be specified for the “Criteria” for relative date and time functionality. Note that these dynamic values are available for Date and DateTime field types. Unless noted, they must be used with the “Greater Than (>)” and/or “Less Than (<)” operators -

Criteria value

Description

%%TODAY(YEAR)%%

Use with the ">" or "<" operators to dynamically calculate a range of years. For example, to view all new customers in the past three years.

%%TODAY(MONTH)%%

Use with the ">" or "<" operators to dynamically calculate a range of months. For example, to view all new customers in the past 36 months.

%%TODAY(WEEK)%%

Use with the ">" or "<" operators to dynamically calculate a range of weeks. For example, to view all new customers in the past 12 weeks.

%%TODAY%%

Today’s date. Can be used with the "=" operator in addition to ">" and "<" operators.

%%TODAY(HOUR)%%

Use with the ">" or "<" operators to dynamically calculate a range of hours. For example, to view all new Contacts in the past one hour

%%TODAY(MINUTE)%%

Use with the ">" or "<" operators to dynamically calculate a range of minutes. For example, to view all new customers in the past 60 minutes

Examples:

Contacts created today:

Contacts created in the last seven days, including today:

If today is 4/9/2015 then the criteria below will pull anyone with a created date of 4/3/2015 to 4/9/2015.

Contacts created before 7 days from today:

Keep in mind that the Less Than (<) and Greater Than (>) operators are not Greater Than or Equal To / Less Than or Equal To operators.  Because of this, if today is 4/9/2015 the criteria of Less Than (<) today -7 returns anyone with a created date of 4/1 or earlier. If the operator was Less than or Equal to then the segment would pull anyone with a created date of 4/2 or earlier, but the operator is only Less Than.

Contacts created in the last seven hours:

Contacts created in the last 30 minutes:

The criteria for year and month should be based on the particular date you are looking for by adding a minus ( - ) or plus ( + ) symbol to the end of the formula.

Example:
Month: %%CURRENT_MONTH%% or %%CURRENT_MONTH%%-1 or %%CURRENT_MONTH%%+1
Year: %%CURRENT_YEAR%% or %%CURRENT_YEAR%%-1 or %%CURRENT_YEAR%%+1

If you would like to segment off of customer created date in October, November and December 2013, for example, you would use the following criteria in the segment assuming this segment is created in February 2014:

Contacts -- CreatedDate -- Greater Than (>) -- %%CURRENT_MONTH%%-5
Contacts -- CreatedDate -- EqualTo(=) -- %%CURRENT_YEAR%%-1

There are several possible ways to write a segment that includes date and time relative criteria and end up with the same result.

Additional information for DATE & TIME CRITERIA:

Year and month are supported in the segment builder. The criteria should be based on the particular date the user is looking for by adding a minus ( - ) or plus ( + ) symbol to the end of the formula.

Example:
Month: %%CURRENT_MONTH%% or %%CURRENT_MONTH%%-1 or %%CURRENT_MONTH%%+1
Year: %%CURRENT_YEAR%% or %%CURRENT_YEAR%%-1 or %%CURRENT_YEAR%%+1

If you would like to segment off of customer created date in October, November and December 2013, for example, they would use the following criteria in the segment assuming this segment is created in February 2014:

Contacts -- CreatedDate -- Greater Than (>) -- %%CURRENT_MONTH%%-5
Contacts -- CreatedDate -- EqualTo(=) -- %%CURRENT_YEAR%%-1

There are several possible ways to write a segment and end up with the same result.
